Sammy, that 2830 you have, does it actually say Uniden 2830 on the heatsink serial number sticker? All the 2830s I've has had serial numbers starting with 83 and had PB111-AA in them. Either there's something different with foreign ones, or I think you may have a Lincoln with a 2830 front. This is the manuals page for Uniden. Uniden 2830 service manualsI'm after the collected wisdom of the Forumites on Transmission 1. I am in the process of having a shack clearout and all manner of 'stuff' has to go, most of which I have accumulated over 20 years or so.
Uniden 2830 Service ManualUniden 2830 service manuals2830Last week I unearthed a box which I remember being given around ten years ago. It contains a Uniden 2830. I am a radio ham and already have a TS50 which does all I want hf-wise, so I was intending to sell this on. Unfortunately, it is totally dead. No lights, no sound, no nothing.
The fuse in the power lead checks out OK, and upon closer inspection, there is nothing anywhere on the boards which shows obvious signs of being cooked. See photos.

It is in good cosmetic condition. I did notice that one of the screws which secures the synthesiser tray was missing (I removed the tray itself from the rig for the photos) so somebody has been in there before me, but I can see no clear signs of anything having been done.
Should I take the time to try to fix it and sell it working, or sell it as-is for parts or possible repair by an active CB-er?
Thanks for your time and comments.
